After having 2 babies back to back with only a 6 week break in between, I thought my body was basically ruined. I had started out in the low 120s and ended up getting into the 170s (I'm only 4'11, so the weight on someone my height isn't too appealing). After my 2nd child was born, and all the initial swelling went down, my stomach still looked like I was pregnant, and I had rolls for days on my back. Of course, it's going to take time to see the results of getting to my pre-pregnancy body, but with her guidance, I have seen a night and day difference. I no longer have a stomach that looks pregnant, and aside from the occasional bloated days, my stomach is much flatter, and I don’t feel as self-conscious as I once did. Meet Nellie Black, a devoted wife, mother of three, and veteran with 19 years of distinguished military service—14 in the Air Force and 5 in the Space Force. Her journey into health began at just 20, stemming from her own struggles with body image, burnout, and the physical demands of military life. Through years of strength training, nutritional mastery, and deep mindset work, Nellie rebuilt not only her body but also her confidence and purpose from the inside out, embodying the essence of becoming your best version.
Nellie holds certifications in Sports Nutrition, Personal Training, and Hormone Optimization, along with a Graduate Degree in Sports Science specializing in Health and Wellness Management. Her education and experience provide her with a unique ability to translate science into practical strategies that help women feel strong, balanced, and capable at every stage of life, especially in the journey of fitness over 40.
Her approach has been shaped by mentorship under some of the most respected names in the industry—William Grazione, known for his expertise in hormonal health and functional nutrition; Jason Theobald, a leader in functional health coaching; Layne Norton and Dr. Bill Campbell, pioneers in evidence-based nutrition and physique science; and Charles Glass, the legendary “Godfather of Bodybuilding.” This mentorship network has honed her eye for precision, physiology, and performance across all levels of health and fitness.
Today, Nellie uses her military discipline, advanced education, and coaching expertise to help veteran women navigate perimenopause and beyond—reclaiming energy, stabilizing hormones, and rebuilding confidence in their bodies. Her mission is to guide women to thrive stronger, steadier, and fully aligned in mind, body, and soul, living a life of mind body soul fitness.
Why This Was Created: This mission arose from a significant gap in women’s health—especially for veterans. Too many women enter perimenopause or face hormonal shifts without real education or support, left guessing their way through fatigue, weight gain, and emotional changes. Even after decades in service, I realized how little guidance existed around how a woman’s body truly evolves with time, stress, and duty.
I created this platform to close that gap—to teach, guide, and connect women with the education and services they need to restore their health and confidence. My goal isn’t just to coach; it’s to empower women with the knowledge, community, and professional support that help them thrive, becoming strong and sexy.
